The Ten Pilar Of Bali
Bali?
who doesn’t know this island
island with natural beauty and diversity of
customs
if you like adventure, it feels not complete if you do not
visited the tops of the highest mountain in Bali
The following ten highest peaks that adorn the
face of Bali island
1. Mt. Agung
Height : 3,031 masl
The highest peak on the island of Bali, I
recommend through Besakih. The starting point is the famous Besakih, there is
now a paved road in Pura Pengubengan (about 1,100 meters above sea level),
which is the highest in the region Besakih temple.
you must stay one night at Kori Agung, the
limit of vegetation. you will see the best sunset views.
The best time if you want to come is in August, when the wind is not so strong and set cummulus
clotted clouds like cotton on our feet.
Track :
- Junggul Village 1,200 masl (path to the top and provided guides in this village),
- Pucang Village 950 masl (northwestern side line, follow the ridge until the Peak One, but is not recommended because less traveled),
- Pasar Agung temple 1,500 meters above sea level (the tourist track , the main line leading to the crater of the southern Great, recently introduced lines that can penetrate into Peak Three agung, but steep and sandy),
- Kedampal track 750 meters above sea level near Amed (no data, views of contours only to highlight East Mount Agung - 2,880 meters above sea level).
2. Mt. Batukaru
Height : 2,276 masl
The last forests on the island of Bali, some
people have great expectations on this mountain. Is the highest point of the
ancient caldera region Beratan, with 7 of the summit in Bali this caldera
complex. Being a region upstream receiver of rain and most of the rivers in
Central Bali. Most of the region to enter conservation area nature reserve
Batukaru.
At his feet are Batukaru temple complex given
the same name as the mountain, a place of worship the god-keeping plants. At
the top there is Pucak Kedaton
temple, the highest temple in Bali at the same time guard
the Bali island.
The rest of the crater that has been inactive
Batukaru facing southeast, overlooking Pura Batukaru. When viewed from a
distance like a large basin, similar to coconut shells upside down. That is why
the mountain is called Batukaru, the word "Karu" on the pronunciation
of "Kau"
which means coconut shell in Balinese.
Track
: There are three main track
- The first from Jatiluwih village (840 masl),
- Pura Batukaru (835 meters above sea level)
- and the northwest side of the village Pujungan (1,090 masl).
3. Mt. Abang
Height : 2,151 masl
Look to your right if you're in Kintamani, or
from the highway Panelokan. Mount the half wall collapsed due to the eruption
of the ancient Batur supervulcano. Right hand of the west wall on the side of Lake
Batur, the crescent-shaped lake. And the foot of Mount Abang is on the outer
circle of the crescent of Lake Batur.
Hiking ascent temple filled with Balinese antique architecture,
this place has become home to residents of Bali Aga, the population original from Bali. After
the Majapahit occupation, Bali Aga residents concentrated in a mountainous
region that is difficult touched. Maintaining a unique tradition until now. The
famous one is Trunyan, at the foot of Mount Abang, which famous for burial the
bodies left on the ground in such a way.
Track
:
- Suter village, the starting point at 1,400 meters above sea level
- and Songan village track, it’s starting point at 1,200 meters above sea level (with the longest horizontal tracks in Bali 7.8 km, would require at least two full days to traverse this path)

4. Mt. Catur
Height : 2,096 masl
Catur mountain or better known as Puncak Mangu is the most
southern peak of Mount Pengelengan ridge that extends from the village of
Wanagiri to Bedugul. The appearance is similar to Mount Abang: Lake Beratan and
half the side walls in the form of an avalanche rest of ancient eruptions.
The mountain is right in the middle of the
circum Mountains of Bali. We could see all the peaks of the mountain on the
island of Bali from this point. Plus the landscape of Lake Beratan and Lake Buyan
is a small peek behind Mt. Tapak.
At the top there is Pucak Mangu, which in my
opinion one of the most beautiful temples in Bali. Because of the existence of
this temple, do not be surprised if in a given day you will see people dressed
in traditional complete and bring offerings to the peak.
Track
:
- Bedugul, 1,220 meters above sea level (land lines and dense forests) and
- Petang village 1,330 masl (lane cement and rocks, road tolls for climbers, just 45 minutes to the top)
5. Mt. Sangiyang
Height : 2,087 meters above sea level
A beautiful mountain, has two peaks, the mountain seems female sex.
Standing between Mt.Batukaru and Pucak Adeng. The eastern slopes are lush
unspoiled valley named Pulan cauldron, the only access is just paths connecting
the rest of the royal era Tamblingan and Jatiluwih, as a medium of barter
coffee (from Munduk and Tamblingan) with rice (from the village of Jatiluwih).
The closest point we have ever achieved only
through this path. There is no access at all to the peak, at least so say
residents whose homes were in the "hump" of Mount Sangiyang and there
has never been there. At least 2 years it took us around the mountain from
various sides to find a nearby village, but the result is always zero. We feel
no need to bypass (read: destructive) forest to create new paths to the top.
Let this mountain looks beautiful from afar.
Track
:
- no Data
6. Mt. Pohen,
Height : 2,063 meters above sea level
In 1994, in the nature reserve area is a major
fire, endemic species of pine Pandak had become a victim. That year, Mount
Pohen lost 30 hectares of forest.
So sadness
But the sadness changed fury when plans to build a geothermal power plant
(geothermal) established there. The goal is just to support the greed of
capitalism tourism in South Bali. Three drill as deep as 2,700 meters already
plug in the land of this montai, forest replaced the paved road 3 meters wide (plus 1 meter shoulders
on each side) to access the passing officers, 2500 liters of water per second
disbursed during the drilling process. Yet this is the only natural forest left
on this small island.
Track
:
- Geothermal Line, 1,550 meters above sea level, the only route to the south of the T-junction towards the Well BEL-02, a straight line to the point no zig zag slightest.
7. Mt. Tapak
Height : 1909 meters above sea level
Mt. Tapak presents a
paradox in the two sides. The southern slopes (the beautiful) stood Eka Karya
Botanical Garden is famous botanical garden in Bali. All well maintained, with colorful flowers,
green grass and pine were planted within a uniform.
The north side is the side of his glum. Vila
was set up Dasong forest clearing, the existing land is becoming widespread to
near the top, as well as all its slopes already terkapling.
But nature has its own way, a landslide killed
several people going in the rainy season of 2011, as well as the sister
mountain: Lake Buyan is equally bestows water to residential areas almost every
year.
Track
:
- Pancasari village track from the side of Lake Buyan, 1,225 meters above sea level (such as the confusing maze of lanes due to the emergence of new fields to a height of 1,700 meters above sea level).
- Eka Karya Botanical Garden track, 1310 meters above sea level (permits are required to enter this nature reserve area). Both of these paths meet at the peak of the so-called Pucak Keramat, stands the Tomb of Islamic Wali Bali and Pesimpangan Pucak Terate Bang temple
8. Mt. Lesung
Height : 1,865 meters above sea level
Open your Google Earth, search Mount Lesung on the south side of Lake Tamblingan. That look is perfectly round crater with
a diameter of 600 meters. Such as bulging eyes were going to swallow anyone who
approached.
There is an aura is different in this mountain
forest with moss cascade green humid, statues of old scattered some point (plus
offering complete with the scent of incense and fabric clothing of the statue),
Goa Nagaloka - old crater like a bottomless pit (sometimes still steaming
heat), also mythical herd of deer that live in the bottom of the crater.
The mountain is like a reminder we are not
alone in this world, there is a parallel world that could be watching us.
Bulging, like the crater of Mt. Lesung.
Track
:
- Tamblingan village, following the river upstream Mue up to and from the small village next to the Bukit Shoots, 1,420 meters above sea level.
9. Mt. Pucak Adeng
Height : 1,826 masl
Adjacent to the Jatiluwih village, which is
included in the UNESCO World Heritage on Subak irrigation system, there Angsri
picturesque village. At the eastern boundary of the village there is a hot
water bath, the rest of the breath from volcanic Adeng 1,826 masl.
It rained almost occur throughout the year in
this area, forest cover and thick foliage on the ground avalanches characterize
this mountain. The peak itself is just flat land with dense forests. Throughout
the 360-degree eye can see there are only trees, trees and trees. Do not leave
the slightest loophole for seeing the sights.
On the southern slopes stands Pucak Adeng, as
its main building punden of padas lava, with several phallus distanakan in
kemuncaknya. Pura is divided into several mandala, terraces follow the contours
of the body mounts.
Track
:
- Track Pucak Adeng, 1,200 meters above sea level. Followed up towards Pucak Anyar and follow the path on the right punden
10. Mt. Batur
Height ; 1,717 masl
The object of the most popular hiking on the
island of Bali, Mt. Batur, close the list of 10 the ultimate highlight of Bali.
Very subtle, this mountain is conditioned for
tourism purposes. At least five stalls stand in peaks to serve hot coffee
before sunrise. Paved streets and large temples were established until an
altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level. Pos Tour Guide is always alert since
midnight to intercept the travelers who were heading peak.
Hiking track :
- There are at least 6 hiking trail from the villages at the foot of Mount Batur. Two famous is from Pura Jati (1,100 masl) and Toya Bungkah (1,180 masl). The road is paved until I ignore an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level, I can not take the hiking trail (knowingly still revenge, making a climbing lane is not exciting anymore).
